About
Amanda has nearly 20 years of experience working in Mental Health. Prior to private practice, Amanda worked as a home-based therapist, child welfare social worker (CPS and Foster Care), and as an early interventionist specializing in infant mental health.
Amanda is a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapist and a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist. Her areas of interest and expertise include: trauma (PTSD), depression, anxiety, maternal mental health (postpartum & perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), infant & toddler development, attachment, parenting, relationships, and grief & loss.
Amanda is a relationship-oriented therapist with roots in attachment and psycho-dynamic theories. She utilizes EMDR therapy to facilitate healing and allow for growth and change.
Amanda partners with her clients, meeting them where they are on their journey in life and seeks to help them by utilizing trauma-informed practices, specializing in EMDR and the Adaptive Information Processing model. Amanda also provides empathic support, validation, practical feedback, and builds on the client's strengths.
Amanda integrates additional methodologies and techniques (Internal Family Systems, Ego-state Therapy, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral strategies, etc.) as needed.
She also uses sense of humor and personality in therapy to help build the therapeutic relationship.
