About
Amanda has over 15 years of experience working as a therapist, child welfare social worker, and early interventionist. She is a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapist and her areas of interest and expertise include: trauma (PTSD), maternal mental health (postpartum & perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), infant & toddler development, attachment, parenting, depression, anxiety, and grief & loss.
Amanda is a relationship-oriented therapist with roots in attachment and psycho-dynamic theories. She utilizes EMDR therapy to facilitate healing and allow for growth and change.
Amanda seeks to partner with her clients on their journey while providing empathic support, validation, practical feedback, and building on client strengths.
Amanda integrates additional methodologies and techniques (Internal Family Systems, Ego-state Therapy, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral strategies, etc.) as needed.
She also uses sense of humor and personality in therapy to help build the therapeutic relationship.
